8. End with Celebration

I’ve never liked Parma Violets, they were the sweets that always disappointed me if they turned up in our sweetie tin!

Yet here I am, sat on Kato Paphos beach with what can only be described as liquid Parma Violets (ok so its lavender iced tea) and I like it, a lot.

There have been a few changes around here…

Fittingly this final week of sabbatical has been framed with the word CELEBRATION!

It was a perfect end to my sabbatical, five days in Paphos at a beautiful hotel enjoying a wonderful wedding. Plus in the run up to it, I was given some great news worth celebrating!

Over the last 60 days, I have slept, read, made, cooked, wrote, visited, jumped and painted in among many other things. I didn’t make it through all my hearts but that was never the plan – they were there to inspire not constrain.

I have learnt more about myself, found new tastes, discovered better routines and revisited old joys. Now it’s time to transition back into a season of work. I don’t want to go back to working in the same way before.

I don’t want to go back to working in the same way before. Instead, I want to take what I have discovered in the last two months and allow it flow into this new season. Over the next few days, I will be uploading the lessons learnt, and how I will weave them into how I will live my life. What will be my motto? My guiding maxim… we will see!

As I’ve travelled through life (so far) there’s been lots of love and lots of loss. When those you love most deeply are lost (sometimes through death) you really realise that there is only ONE FRIEND & LOVER who will always stay with you. It’s so obvious, isn’t it, our dearest Lord Jesus Christ with his Father and Holy Spirit. When all else fails, amazingly he never does or can.
