“What a week” she wrote, “Early mornings and late evenings full of laughter, joy and singing!”. Yet, she thought, in the busyness, I have not spent much time here with you.
She pauses for a moment and remember You are a God of grace. Still, she reasoned, I long for my heart to crave you. She smiles because she know your desire is the same, that I would draw near, and notice more readily the signs of your calling me to you.
She thinks of the Shepherds who went as instructed by angels. Then of the wise, who were guided by the star. Though, she remembers, they first went to where they thought the needed to go; the palace.
How often I go to where I think I ought, rather than follow your signs which are personally made to reach me. Even when I am far, you draw me near.
During advent, may I follow you more closely, and fall on my knees as I see the wonders before me.
